Footers for slab- We had a surveyor help us get the angles just right.
Form is ready for the slab after the rough plumbing is installed. For this stage of construction, Craig hauled 23+ tons of gravel up the hill in the wheelbarrow, with help from Drew and RJ (thanks guys)!
Our back yard was significantly reduced- A sacrifice we were willing to make!
This is one of my favourite pictures! ( I wish it had turned out a little clearer )

The day we moved in. You can see there was a sizeable fenced-in back yard with a natural wall where the mountain was graded a few years before we came along.
Summer vegetation
Just getting started...
More views of our "new" back yard...
Some friends camped at the house site shortly after the grading was completed.
This is almost all of the stuff we needed to start building. Most of it is the house kit. We also went ahead and bought the shingles while we had the money, so they are under one or two of the tarps as well.
As you can see, we almost lost our little shed! It sustained a few dents from falling debris but we are still able to use it.
